The Assheton Arms is an independent, family owned pub and restaurant that has a dog-friendly bar area alongside a seafood led restaurant with a focus on excellence and value. Situated in Downham, Clitheroe and refurbished in April 2012, the Assheton Arms merges traditional surroundings with modern food! There is a wide selection of quality fish dishes as well as classic favourites such as fish pie and Pendle Hill steak.

The Assheton Arms is operated by the Seafood Pub Company and the Neve family whose roots in the fishing industry go back generations. At the helm is Joycelyn Neve who steers the restaurant direction while her father Chris Neve uses his unrivalled experience to source the finest quality produce from sea and shore.

The Seafood Pub Company began with the opening of The Oyster & Otter at Feniscowles, Blackburn in 2011. In 2012 it was named a Great British Pub Awards ‘Best Food Pub’, an accolade won by the Assheton Arms in 2013. The Assheton Arms in the Ribble Valley village of Downham also won the ‘Lancashire Life Dining Pub of the Year’ title and was a finalist in the Top 50 Gastro Pubs ‘Best Newcomer’ category, and more recently has been chosen for inclusion in the 2014 Good Food Guide. The Fenwick became the third venue and the latest is the Farmers Arms in the Fylde village of Great Eccleston.
